            Framed Photos

This is an example of a framed photo because you can see how the tube, or whatever that is... is framing the picture of the valley.

Just how this tree frames the picture of this ocean.

My favorite as a framed photo, i think the doors frame this photo so beautifully and relay your eyes back the gorgeous sunset.

Action Photos

The movement in this photo makes it action, it requires a slow shutter speed, the photographer was panning, lighting plays a role by how you are able to se at the horse is running.

This is a good action photo because it captures the surfer on the wave, it requires a fast shutter speed, the photographer was pre-placed, and the light plays a role by how good the waves look and how well you can see this surfer.

This is a good example of action shots because it captures the movement of the dogs face, it requires a fast shutter speed, the photographer was pre-placed, and lighting plays a role in this by giving it enough light to be able to see the individual water specks.

This is a good example of an action photo because it shows the movement of the city traffic, this photo needed a slow shutter speed, the photographer was panning, and the lighting that plays a role here is the city lights, which actually give the photo a more interesting affect i think.

I think this is a great action photo because I love the pause in time feel it gives off, the almost frozen looking water, this requires a fast shutter speed, the lighting in this gives the photo contrast, the shadow you see, I think the photographer in this photo was pre-placed.

Pattern Photos

I chose this photo because i feel like the stars were a good definition of a pattern.

I think the tiles in this picture represent a good pattern as well. Because most the tiles are somewhat painted.

I think this picture is a good example of a pattern because there is repetition of the colors, so in a way like a pattern.

              Patterns

I chose this picture because I felt that the pattern of this giraffes fur is a good use of pattern.

This also portrays good patterns.

So does this one

Especially this one.

Portraits

None of these pictures directly match the picture I had chosen from the options, but honestly because i had forgotten what our kinds of pictures we were supposed to take were. But if there was i picture i felt like looked like it the most and would represent it best would be my top photo. I think because it was a candid photo and i felt it was in a way free flowing like the one picture i had chosen.

     Favorite Photo From Links

I think this picture is one of the best Ive seen in all the links because the look of this photo looks very natural to me, gives off a happy feeling. Even when it wasn't posed it still comes of as a great portrait, regardless of them looking at the camera or not, the subjects are clear and natural. Which is why I feel this is one of best photos I've seen throughout these links.

High and Low Angle Photos

Low Angle
I chose this photo because I felt the look of this low angle was different, even not being able t see her face you are still able to tell she's a dog. Obviously..

High Angle
It's not the best high angle, but i still feel it's a decent picture of the fake flower, feather thing I have in my room. And was taken from a high angle.

Leading Lines.

I chose this picture because the lines lead your eyes to look at the boy walking.

Rule of Thirds Photos

I chose this photo because this placement of the four quotes, almost act like the lines of the rule of thirds graph.

I chose this photo because I felt it looked unique, almost as if the hand taking a picture guides you to look at what it might be taking a picture of, like the bike, etc.

I chose this photo because I like the look the lines create in the picture.

Elements of Photography

Line- is the most basic building of photo analysis. Lines can be used to create more complex shapes or to lead your eye from one area to another in the composition to another.

Value-  the degree of light and dark in a design. It is the contrast between black and white and all the tones in between. Value can be used in color as well as in black and white, contrast is the extreme changes between values.

Shape- are created when lines are combined to form a square, triangle, or circle. Shapes can be organic (irregular shapes found in nature) or geometric (shapes with strong lines or angles such as circles, triangles or squares).

Forms- are three dimensional shapes with lengths, widths, and depths. Balls, cylinders, boxes, and pyramids are forms.

Space- is the area between and around objects. Increasing or decreasing the amount of space around the objects affects the way we view the object.

Color- differentiates and defines lines, shapes, forms and space. Even black and white images have a huge number of different shades of grey.

Texture- Is the surface quality that can be seen and felt. textures can be rough or smooth, soft or hard. Textures are often implied. For instance a drawing of a rock may appear to have a hard or rough texture but in reality is as smooth as the paper its drawn on.

Principles of Photography

Balance- is created in a work of art when textures, shapes, colors, forms are combined harmoniously.

Contrast- is the use of several elements of design  to hold the viewers attention and to guide the viewers eye through the artwork.

Movement- is the way a viewers eye is directed to move through a composition, often to areas of emphasis. Movement can be directed by lines, contrasting shapes, or colors within the artwork.

Emphasis- is created in a work of art when the artist contrasts colors, textures, or shapes to direct your viewing towards a particular part of the image.

Pattern- the repetition of a shape, form, or texture across a work of art.

Proportion- is created when sizes of elements in a work of art are combined harmoniously.

Unity- is created when principles of analysis are present in a composition and in harmony. Some images have a complete sense of unity, while other artist completely avoid unity to create a sense of panic and anxiety.
